Virtual and Augmented Reality: Bringing Animals to Life
Sunday, April 23rd, 2:30 pm – 4 pm
$10 per child (Ages 5 and up)
***This workshop is offered at a low cost thanks to support from Honolulu Biennial 2017
Join us for a workshop inspired by the work of Japanese art collective teamLab and their interactive Graffiti Nature exhibit, currently on view at the Honolulu Biennial festival. Through the use of technology, students will be immersed into virtual spaces that place them in the middle of dangerous animal exhibits. Observe and engage with these animals from the safety of the room. Students will also be amazed as we use iPads to bring drawings to life through the use of an augmented reality app called Quiver. Instructors will be from Elemental Minds, a STEM program focused on the development of 21st century skills like leadership, communication, and collaboration through engaging, hands-on, and minds-on STEM activities.
