Rainbow Scratch Boards
Workshop Location: Art Explorium
Sunday, April 9th, 2:30 pm – 4 pm
$10 per child (Ages 5 and up)
***This workshop is offered at a low cost thanks to support from Honolulu Biennial 2017
Join us as we learn to create and design our very own scratch boards inspired by the artwork of local artist Charlton Kupa’a Hee, whose story gourds explore traditional Hawaiian mo’olelo (stories). Students will learn how to make a scratch board, think of a story while they plan their design, and etch their design into their boards. As students etch into their boards, the rainbow colors will be revealed! Art instructor Ashley Katamoto is an Art Explorium employee and teacher at University Laboratory School.
*This workshop is currently full. Please contact us if you’d like to be placed on a wait list (312-4316, email@example.com). For prompt response on weekends, please call our studio.
